Contact Julia

Julia received a degree in English from Vassar College, with a specialty in Creative Writing, and a master's degree focusing on teen media from the University of Texas' prestigious Radio-Television-Film program. Her master's thesis on the teen drama My So-Called Life explores gender and adolescence through television genres.

In 2006, Julia wrote, produced, directed, and edited a short documentary film, The Hopper House. Drawing on interviews with art curators and stories from family members, converted home VHS footage, and current location footage, the film interweaves the themes of American painter Edward Hopper's work with Julia's experience spending her childhood summers in Hopper's Massachusetts studio.

Julia has experience in live television, documentary media, and scripted television. She assisted in the launch of Nickelodeon's TeenNick network, where she used her unique Writer/Producer skill set to create promotional campaigns targeted to a teen audience. Julia has also written and produced promos for A&E's Emmy-winning series Intervention, and Bio's program, Aftermath with William Shatner. After being promoted from Associate Producer to Show Producer, her most recent work for MTV's MADE has allowed Julia to return to her passion for long-form documentary-style and teen-centric media.
